Developing the Young Workforce North Highland

This short course is an intensive introduction to the art and craft of drawing. It will involve experimenting with many different drawing materials and mediums while investigating a broad range of drawing styles and observational processes.

This course comes in three workshops: 10th, 17th, 24th February (Thursday evenings) 6pm-8pm. More information on each below…

Week 1 (10th Feb) Fleeting moments: How to catch a fleeting moment, a bird in flight, shifting clouds or people walking, talking and going about their everyday business.

Week 2 (17th Feb) Creating mass, investigating space and achieving balance: Drawing with the edge. How to create and enclose a three-dimensional space on a 2-dimensional plane giving drawings a sense of weight and gravitas.

Week 3 (24th Feb) Freedom of line: Focussing on outlines and how to recognise and develop weight and sensitivity of line to describe objects
