Trainee Opportunity: Administration, Finance & Marketing Trainee – Highlands and Islands Climate Hub
• Full Time, 35 hours per week over 5 days. Monday-Friday
• Salary: £19,900 per annum plus 3% pension contribution
• Type of employment: Fixed term until 31 March 2024 with scope to 31 March 2025 subject to funding.

The Highlands & Islands Climate Hub is funded by the Scottish Government and has the purpose of supporting community-led climate action from Shetland to Skye. The Hub is one of the first in a network of community climate action hubs being formed across Scotland to support communities to make a just transition towards net zero and support a climate ready Scotland.
Our Hub is made up of staff which represent the communities we serve meaning many of our colleagues work remotely. We have offices in Thurso and Inverness. The Hub assists communities in their climate action journey from developing new projects or working with community groups to embed more climate friendly behaviours into their existing work. In general, we lend additional capacity, support and advice to communities to allow them to achieve their climate action goals.
Scotland has the ambitious target of reaching net zero by 2045 and the Hub Network is part of the efforts to reach this target.
To allow us to reach our goals and contribute to Scotland’s ambitious net zero targets we’re looking for an Admin, Finance & Marketing trainee to join our team in Thurso.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate will support the wider team with completing day to day administration tasks, managing an email inbox and using online tools to ensure that files are where they should be. This includes learning and understanding Office 365, Sharepoint & Project Management system, Monday.com.
In this role, you’ll learn about the financing of our organisation from the Hub Manager, understand how we distribute grant funds to communities as well as day to day finance requirements. This will include learning and becoming proficient in Sage accounting software.
The successful candidate will also support the Hub & Membership Co-ordinator with marketing. This will include supporting with membership admin, the management of social media platforms and day to day operational marketing tasks.
You’ll work alongside the Hub Manager and Hub & Membership Co-Ordinator who will support you to learn and understand processes and procedures, you’ll then have ownership and responsibility for completing specific administration, finance and marketing tasks.

Qualifications:
Essential:
• Educated to school leaver level or have the equivalent work experience.

• Experience within an admin role
